Showing up

As someone who grew up in 1999, the internet played a huge role in my life. I can say I’ve been in just about every corner of it as an avid web user. From creating meme blogs on Blogger.com, joining Twitter in 2009, building custom OT servers for Tibia, and even changing grades through the Dev Tools Inspector on my school’s web platform to make my parents proud, I’ve done a lot of different things and explored some weird places online.

The funny thing is, even after 15 years of being chronically online, I never really put myself out there in a serious way on the internet. Meaning, I never showed who I really am, what I actually know, or what I can contribute to the world.

In the last few years, Build in Public became a buzzword. Because of that, I tried starting a blog twice, but neither time felt right. It wasn’t something I genuinely wanted to do; I was chasing performance instead of expressing myself.

Digging deeper, I realized I was always afraid of what people might think of me, afraid of judgment, of saying something that could displease someone and hurt my reputation. So I ended up following this invisible guidebook of what to do online.

But the thing is, success and greatness also come with real exposure. I’ve never met anyone truly great at something who stayed hidden in a cave, never showing their work or sharing their knowledge to help others out there. You can’t become great in the dark. At some point, you have to step into the light.

That’s why I started this blog, and this time, it’s for real, I want to share what I know, what I’m learning and what I’m worth. I’m done worrying about looking dumb or saying the wrong thing. I just want to write about what fascinates me, mostly around Computer Science and Mathematics.

Welcome :)
